New Cities Tapped For Google Fiber
The announcement from Mountain View this morning is that Google’s high-speed broadband service - “Google Fiber” - is looking to expand to 34 new cities in 9 metro areas from Atlanta to Portland, via Nashville and Salt Lake City.

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler today stated his intention to enforce “transparency”, “no blocking” and “non-discrimination” on the internet, and to encourage increased competition, in order to protect would-be innovators and consumers who often have little marketplace choice. Protecting an open internet is one of the most important things the FCC can do.

In outlining his plan for economic growth and competitiveness in last month's State of the Union address, President Obama called upon Congress to pass a patent litigation reform bill "that allows businesses to stay focused on innovation, not needless and costly litigation."
