DOL Comment on Independent Contractors

Engine submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Labor supporting the proposed rule's shift from the current multi-factor worker-classification test to a simpler two-factor standard. The comments explain that startups rely on contractors for one-off projects and specialized work they cannot hire full time, and that the final rule should make clear that common startup practices do not turn a contractor into an employee.
