Statement:

Engine submitted comments to the U.S. Trade Representative as the agency compiles the 2026 National Trade Estimate Report on foreign trade barriers. Digital trade barriers—such as digital-specific levies, restrictions on cross-border data flows, or discriminatory regulatory measures—create significant hurdles for startups, imposing unjustifiable costs, constraining their scalability, and limiting their ability to compete internationally.
