Nuts and Bolts: Deciphering the Details of Encryption

  • 2247 Rayburn House Office Building Washington, DC

Designed to complement the Introduction to Encryption event, the second lecture in our Nuts and Bolts series offers participants the opportunity to take a deeper dive into the fundamentals of encryption.

You’re invited to join technical experts Amie Stepanovich (Access Now), Nick Feamster (Princeton University) and Peter Van Valkenburgh (Coin Center) for a look at the math that underpins this technology and a conversation on the different forms of encryption and why they’re used. In addition to these, speakers will explore the technical issues around government’s access to data, and how that access will change as evolving technology further distances companies and service providers from content.

Lunch from Taylor Gourmet will be provided; please note dietary restrictions on the registration form.
